Dear Sheryl Calton, We received your concern from 3-1-1 City of Houston Help & Info Line regarding the recent high water bill. A work order was created to have the meter inspected. Please allow 7-14 business days for it to be complete. This inspection would include: - Obtain a visual meter reading - Change the electronic reading device. You may contact Customer Account Services at (713)371-1400 to check the status on the work order or may use the online chat feature on https://www.houstonwaterbills.houstontx.gov/ As we are unable to track water once it has passed through the meter, we are unable to say how the water at your property was used. However, in compliance with City Ordinance, we must bill for all water that passes through the meter. If a leak on the private plumbing at the property is determined to have been the cause of the higher than expected water usage, you may request for the account to be reviewed for a leak adjustment, by completing and submitting the attached
